The Issue

The rising cost of heating oil is causing significant stress for families like mine. Usually, heating oil fluctuates between 50-60p per litre, but since the Middle East conflict, it has skyrocketed to between 114-134p per litre. This steep increase has made it nearly impossible for us to sustain our way of life, especially when combined with soaring fuel and food prices.

As a result, families that don’t qualify for government support are left struggling to afford this basic necessity. While the government has offered support to low-income families, the reality is that many more families are on the brink of financial crisis simply trying to keep their homes warm.

This situation is unsustainable. We need the government to step in now and implement a price cap on heating oil. Without regulation, countless families will face difficult choices this winter, such as between heating and other essential daily needs.

By regulating heating oil prices, we can ensure that no family has to endure the cold or sacrifice other essentials just to afford heating. We owe it to ourselves and our communities to fight for this change.

Join me in demanding the government to regulate heating oil prices. Sign the petition today and together, we can push for necessary and urgent action to protect our families and our future.
