In light of COVID-19, Regent University has  canceled 2020 commencement and is offering a virtual supplement. As the graduating student body, we petition to postpone commencement until further notice, when the threat of infection has subsided. 

As those directly affected by this decision, we ask our school leadership to consider the importance of this event in an individual's life, and the benefit of camaraderie and celebration-- both of which are necessary in times of crisis, even if just a future hope. 

Regent University has the power to give this hope to its students as well as set an example of compassionate leadership to the rest of the community and nation at large.
