We, the undersigned, call on Birmingham City Council to refuse Planning Application 2026/02476/PA for the conversion of 90 Highfield Road, Hall Green, Birmingham B28 0HP from a family dwelling into a six-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) housing up to 10 people. 

Highfield Road is a well-established residential street made up primarily of family homes. This proposal would introduce an intensive form of residential use that would adversely affect the character of the neighbourhood and the quality of life for existing residents.

We ask Birmingham City Council to refuse this application because it would:

Result in the loss of a family home.
Increase pressure on already limited on-street parking.
Create additional traffic and highway safety concerns.
Increase noise, disturbance and activity affecting neighbouring residents.
Generate greater refuse and recycling demands.
Contribute to the over-concentration of HMOs that the Council's city-wide Article 4 Direction is intended to manage.
Undermine the balanced and sustainable residential character of Hall Green.
We support good-quality housing and recognise that HMOs have a role to play in Birmingham. However, they must be located in appropriate places and should not come at the expense of established family neighbourhoods.

We respectfully request that Birmingham City Council refuses Planning Application 2026/02476/PA and continues to protect Hall Green as a balanced, safe and family-friendly residential community.
