As long-time Flower Mound, TX homeowners, we've always cherished the ability to improve our property and make our neighborhood a vibrant place to live. One such improvement is our beautiful, custom-built 6x8 storage shed which houses our children's play equipment and bicycles. You might even have seen it, neatly tucked to the side of our home. Unfortunately, our beloved shed is no longer welcomed.

Despite its presence for years without incidents, and the existence of similar or larger sheds throughout the neighborhood, our town has ordered its removal for a code violation. This violation stems from the existing accessory building ordinance, a regulation we believe is unnecessarily restrictive, especially for homeowners with smaller plots of land.

According to recent studies, the average American family owns approximately 93 square feet of clutter that does not fit into their home (Trulia, 2018).
