Reform Insurance Laws to Protect the Injured

The Issue

I was injured in a work-related accident and, due to the accident, I was sent to the insurance company doctor, a family physician, and an orthopedic doctor, when I should have seen a certified hand surgeon. They concluded that my injury wasn’t related to my accident, which was a blatant lie. The truth is, they don't want to pay!

Unfortunately, my story is not unique. It is symptomatic of the systemic failures within our insurance frameworks—whether it be car insurance, medical insurance, or workers' compensation claims. Each year, thousands of people suffer due to negligent practices and outdated laws that prioritize corporate profits over human health and well-being.

It is time to change all existing laws related to any kind of insurance. We must focus on helping those who are injured rather than filling the wallets of companies and politicians. Studies show that insurance companies have vast legal and financial resources at their disposal, which they utilize to deny legitimate claims, causing distress and financial harm to those in need.

In 2020 alone, it is estimated that the insurance industry in the United States generated over $1.3 trillion in premiums, yet many claims remain unpaid or inadequately settled. These practices have a severe impact on individuals who are already suffering from injuries and are in desperate need of timely and proper medical attention.

To put an end to this injustice, we call for comprehensive reforms in insurance legislation. This includes requiring insurance providers to allow victims to choose specialized medical professionals based on the specific needs of their injuries, ensuring transparency in claims processing, and holding insurers accountable for delays and unjust rejection of claims.

Our call to action is simple yet crucial: overhaul the existing insurance laws for the betterment of individuals and families affected by these unfair practices. Let’s stop the insanity. Insurance should be about protection and care, not profit.

Join us in advocating for fair treatment of the injured and a more just insurance system. Sign this petition to support the reform of insurance laws and hold insurance companies accountable for their responsibilities.
