I am a grandparent, heartbroken and frustrated by the current policies of Child Protective Services (CPS). My grandchildren were taken from their home over minor issues. They were well cared for, never went hungry, had plenty of clothes and were happy. Now they are scattered among different homes, longing to return to their family. This is not an isolated incident but a common story for many families across the country.

The CPS was established with noble intentions - to protect children from serious harm such as physical abuse or neglect leading to malnutrition. However, it seems that in recent times the focus has shifted towards less severe cases which often result in unnecessary separation of children from their families.

According to a report by the National Coalition for Child Protection Reform (NCCPR), there is an alarming trend where CPS intervenes in situations that do not warrant such drastic measures. The report states that "in 37 percent of cases nationwide, CPS found no evidence of maltreatment after investigation." This suggests that many children are being needlessly removed from their homes causing emotional distress and potential long-term psychological damage.

It's time we refocus our efforts on helping those truly in need - children who are victims of severe abuse or neglect - rather than tearing apart families over minor issues. We must reform the intervention policies within CPS so they align more closely with its original mission: protecting children from serious harm while keeping unnecessary family separations at a minimum.

We urge lawmakers and relevant authorities to review these policies urgently and ensure they prioritize child safety without compromising familial bonds unnecessarily. I believe if they would do their job right then it would be a better place kids being happy with their parents are way better then any amount of money that they are making doing this to familys and what right do they have to adopt your kids out to someone else over little stuff like a little dirt on them from playing outside let's open their eyes don't let them get away with selling our kids cause that is what it is all for the money
