The Issue

Together, we can build a CPS that helps families heal, not break apart.

We recently faced a devastating situation in New Hamphire with our family when Child Protective Services (CPS) unjustly took our daughter away from us. Someone made a call reporting that we were unfit parents for not having a home, despite the fact that we had just purchased a new one. Yet, despite providing proof of our new home, DCYF refused to allow our daughter to come and live with us.

This experience has opened our eyes to the larger, systemic issues within Child Protective Services (CPS). Too often, families from around the globe are torn apart based on allegations not thoroughly investigated. Innocent families endure trauma and pain, all because the system is flawed.

Child Protective Services, or DCYF, must undergo significant reforms to prevent this from happening to other families. It's crucial that investigations are thorough and evidence-based. Families should not be punished based on unfounded accusations or temporary situations that are swiftly resolved.

We need stronger policies that ensure children are only removed from homes when absolutely necessary, and parents should be given an adequate chance to present their case and evidence in these proceedings. The emotional, social, and psychological impact on both children and parents during these separations can last a lifetime.

We urge policymakers and those in a position of power to address this issue urgently. By reforming CPS we aim to create a fairer, more just system that truly acts in the best interests of children. Please sign this petition to support reform in Child Protective Services and to help reunite families wrongly separated by the current system. Together, we can bring about meaningful change.

I started this petition because I’ve seen — and heard from — too many families who’ve been hurt by how CPS handles its cases. Parents and children are being left out of decisions that shape their lives, while the system meant to protect and support them too often causes more harm.

I believe in a child welfare system built on compassion, transparency, and accountability — one that protects children and helps families heal. This petition is a call for meaningful reform, so no family in the globe feels unheard or forgotten again. Together, we can make CPS better for everyone it serves.

CPS must include children’s voices, support family reunification when it’s safe, engage fathers, focus on families’ strengths, and communicate with honesty and respect. Real reform means protecting kids and supporting families every step of the way.

IT ALL STARTS WITH US!!

Once everyone who choses to sign this peition; it will be shown to U.S Senate of New Hampshire - Jeanne Shaheen & Margaret Hassan. & president Donald Trump who will then give us the oppertunity to make the changes that Child/Adult Portective Custody need to make in order to make the changes that needs to be changed in order to give us a fair and respectful oppertunity for our families.

If you have any comments to make that go along with this petition comment on the link you clicked on to get you to this petition, thank you all!
