Reform Australia's Migratory Policy to be More Fair and Equitable

Reform Australia's Migratory Policy to be More Fair and Equitable
The issue
I speak as a migrant worker, contributing to the vast and diverse economy of Australia. The workers like me, migrants with dreams and hopes, have poured our hearts into this land. We have significantly contributed to the Australian economy, which the current migratory policy overlooks.
The recent raise in the Student Visa application fee, now exceeding its original cost of $710, puts unnecessary financial strain on bright minds eager to learn. Discriminatory restrictions on Temporary Graduate Visa holders, such as age limits, type of course, and nationality, create unfair barriers to opportunity.
There is an urgent need for establishing a fair pathway to Permanent Residency for Temporary Visa Holders. This is especially vital for those of us who have continued to contribute to the Australian economy during the COVID-19 pandemic, as policies in New Zealand and Canada have already recognised.
Migrants deserve fair treatment. We deserve access to Medicare, to quality jobs and the Child Care Subsidy. Our children - future contributors to this great nation - should have free access to public schools. International students must be allowed to work full time and should be provided a Travel Concession Card State by State to alleviate their cost of living.
Now is the time for change. We are asking for a fair and equitable migratory policy in Australia that acknowledges and supports the pivotal role that we, the migrants, have in this country's prosperity. Sign the petition and join us in our fight for justice.
