Welcome to the May 2026 newsletter.
Thirlwall Inquiry:
Earlier this month, we received the news that the publication of the Thirlwall Inquiry’s final report would once again be delayed and it will now be released sometime after Parliament returns from the summer recess. Please see the official update from their website:
https://thirlwall.public-inquiry.uk/2026/05/12/may-update-on-final-report/
One of the notable knock on effects is that the “new” coroner inquests, due to take place in September this year, have also been kicked further down the road until May next year at the very earliest. The article below from the BBC covers this development in more detail.

As expected, there has been a lot of comment on this latest news. Some of it has been very plausible, but some of it less so.
In truth, none of us really knows what is actually going on behind the scenes and one thing I would like to remind you all of is that everything moves at a snail’s pace in this country and public inquiries are no exception. If anything, they are very near the top of the shameful list!
What springs straight to mind is the tragic Grenfell Tower inquiry, which took over 7 years to complete, causing no end of frustration and stress to survivors, bereaved families and the surrounding community.
As infuriating as the push backs and long periods of inactivity are, I think we’d all do well to be a little more patient when we hit these brick walls and not go jumping to more fantastical conclusions with little or no proof at all.
There is no doubt in my mind that an awful lot of the people behind this box ticking exercise will be hanging their heads in shame sooner or later (let’s all pray for sooner), but there are still many more hurdles to overcome between now and then.
A not so favourable final report is another thing around the corner that we will all have to absorb and move on from. But rather than just hoping it will magically disappear, we should instead be focusing on the goldmine of new information it has given us. Information that has only strengthened our argument that Lucy is completely innocent of any wrongdoing. Period.
Brian Buckle:
I would like to use this month’s newsletter to bring to your attention another dreadful miscarriage of justice that you may or may not be familiar with. Here is a summary of Brian Buckle’s wrongful conviction horror story by the BBC:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66928735
And here is a DailyMotion clip of the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, acknowledging it is a “grave miscarriage of justice” in Parliament:

Incredibly, despite it being proven way beyond all doubt that Brian is a completely innocent man, his compensation claim has been rejected. That is a disgrace! Why on earth should he be responsible for covering his own legal fees, and be expected to suck up the many years of lost earnings and gaps in national insurance and pension contributions, when he did nothing wrong?!
A petition has been set up on the Change platform to help Brian overturn this ridiculous ruling and so I am asking everyone reading this to please sign his petition and share it as much as possible to help raise more awareness of this case. It currently sits at 41,656 signatures. Here is the link:
Brian is not looking for financial gain from a tragic situation. He only seeks something near to what he paid to cover his legal costs and to compensate for all those years of lost earnings. Surely no fair minded person can begrudge him of that.
Lucy’s Petition:
At the time of writing, our petition for Lucy sits just 121 signatures short of the 20,000 milestone, an incredible achievement in less than two years of it going live. Please help us to get it over the line by the end of this bank holiday weekend by giving it a share on your socials if you possibly can.
Thank you in advance for all your help and enjoy the rest of this sunny bank holiday weekend.
