Sir David Davis:
Last month Sir David Davis spoke up for Lucy in Parliament for a second time, this time raising the matter of Cheshire Police’s conduct throughout the pre-trial investigation.
As usual, Sir David did not disappoint and delivered another inspiring speech that exposed some of many of the flaws for which Lucy still continues to pay for with her liberty to this very day.

It is worth watching Sir David’s speech right till the end. On top of all the things you’d expect to hear about the botched police investigation, you will hear Sir David raise the matter of MPs not being able to make applications to the IOPC and how that flaw in the law needs to be changed in the interests of following guidelines.
The Yellow Butterfly Group is in full support of this and indeed any other notion that ensures transparency and accountability applies to the police too. We will watch with interest to see if this change does come into effect.
Despite Sir David’s heroic efforts, it was extremely disappointing that out of 650 MPs, only 6 made the effort to stay back and listen.
All members of The Yellow Butterfly Group wrote to our MPs asking them to attend and contribute. About half of us received letters back from them saying they were unable to attend for various reasons, half of us got no response at all!
We also opened this activity up to non-YB members via last month’s newsletter, asking you all to do the same with your own MPs. Obviously their no-shows were not the outcome we all hoped for, but I thank all of you who did take the trouble to write. Please don’t feel too disheartened by their lack of action. You have fed a thought that may come into play at a later stage.
Shortly after Sir David’s speech, Cheshire Police hit back, with Chief Constable Mark Roberts accusing Sir David of “misleading Parliament”. See the Mirror article below:

Now of course everyone has a right to reply, but getting into a public spat with someone of Sir David’s intelligence and experience is not likely to end well. Below is a PDF of Sir David’s reply, which we have copied from the CrimeLine website.

Further Arrest:
This week, we learned that one of the former managers at the Countess of Chester Hospital has been arrested on charges of perverting the court of justice. You may remember that last summer, three former managers were arrested for gross negligence manslaughter.
No further information on the person’s identity has been given out, other than to say it is reported that he / she is one of the three who was arrested and bailed last summer.

Caution:
For your own sake, please avoid speculating in public forums about who the person arrested is. Naming names could result in you being arrested yourself for contempt of court and that’s the last thing anyone wants to see. Always lean towards the side of caution in situations like this and don’t fall into the trap of thinking you’re safe because so and so from YouTube has already done it.
We can all have a pretty good guess who the person in question is, but until this becomes official, we all have to play the same patient waiting game and hope whoever it is will start to do the right thing and speak up in support for Lucy. No more sitting dormant, no more self-preservation, only the truth from now on please!
Petition and YouTube:
The petition continues to grow from strength to strength and now sits at 18,556 signatures at the time of writing. It has received a lot of generous sponsors since the last newsletter and I thank all of you who continue to support Lucy in this way.
We now have a target date for our next YouTube release and that is in mid June, which will be closely followed by another in mid-July. Both projects are multi-layered and have taken a great deal of time and effort to create and put together, so your patience is much appreciated.
As with all YB releases, they are always a closely guarded secret until they are released and that’s what makes our channel so unique - you literally never know what is coming next!
