Welcome to the ultra late, but ever present monthly newsletter.

Netflix Documentary:

The talking point for much of February has understandably been the new Netflix documentary - The Investigation of Lucy Letby.

Whilst I have always maintained that all mainstream documentaries are generally a good thing, in that they bring the case to the attention of new people, who were previously unaware of the growing “Justice for Lucy” movement, this one in particular went way beyond any boundaries of what is acceptable.

All of us who have been supporting Lucy, both long term and more recently, found it incredibly difficult to watch the needless and undignified footage of her being arrested in bed at her family home and the scenes that followed. Footage like that should never be allowed to see the light of day.

Police body camera footage is absolutely necessary these days for protecting both the public and the police in potentially volatile situations. What it isn’t meant for is to be passed on for “entertainment purposes” to companies such as Netflix and ITN. Multi-billion dollar companies, run by cheap and easy people, who think it’s okay to globally showcase the darkest moments of a person’s life. That is never okay! Ever!

Whilst there was a number of positives that did come from the documentary (we can maybe touch on them another time), I am pleased that the fade factor has now begun to kick in and hopefully this personal intrusion, like so many in the past, is something that Lucy can put behind her and instead keep focused on the more important challenges that lie ahead.

Thirlwall Inquiry:

As promised, the team at the Thirlwall Inquiry updated us on their progress with regards to publishing their findings and final recommendations. The final drafts are now due to be handed over to the publishers where they will be proofread and prepared for public viewing. A further update will be issued by them after Easter.

The official statement from the Thirlwall Inquiry website can be found below:

Petition:

Since the release of the Netflix documentary trailer, the petition has enjoyed a huge surge of well over 6000 new signatures, taking it to a very respectable total of 14,443. As always, I am very grateful to those of you who have added your voice to what is still the biggest public count in support of Lucy.

My thanks also to those of you who are actively going out of your way weekly and sometimes even daily to keep on putting it out there and helping it to reach as many new people as possible.

The Yellow Butterfly Group is about to launch a new activity, which we hope will help turbo charge the numbers even more and give it that chance of going viral, so keep an eye out for that.

YouTube Channel:

As previously mentioned, 6000 new signatories in a matter of a few weeks is an incredible amount and doubtless many of you are here reading this newsletter for the first time. First of all, thank you for being here, you are very welcome.

Secondly, if you would like to follow more of The Yellow Butterfly Group’s activities, then please subscribe to our YouTube channel by clicking the link below:

We will be adding a lot more content to our channel over the late spring and summer months and we are confident that anyone serious about supporting Lucy will find it useful, informative and very creative.

Best wishes for the rest of this of this weekend,

Christopher Logan (YB Group founder and campaign lead)
