Good morning and welcome to the June 2025 newsletter.

With Lucy’s application to appeal now firmly in the hands of the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), matters have fallen silent on the legal front. It is now a waiting game and that’s likely the case for the next few months at least.

Last month however, we learned of the tragic case of Peter Sullivan, finally released from prison, having spent 38 years behind bars for a crime he did not commit. Peter is yet another shocking example of a wrongly convicted person, whose case dragged on for many years, despite it becoming blindingly obvious he was completely innocent years earlier than his release.

Indeed, Peter served more years than Andrew Malkinson and Stefan Kisko combined!! If that is not the blueprint case study for justice reform, then I don’t know what is! We must not allow Lucy to be stripped of any more of her prime years only for her to be told years later, “oh gosh, we made a mistake,” action and reform needs to happen now!

You can read more about Peter Sullivan’s case and that of Diane Sindall, whose true killer still remains at large, by clicking the link below:

On 30 May, the Yellow Butterfly Group joined our friends and fellow freedom fighters in Birmingham for a mixed group protest outside the offices of the CCRC. As with all protests we take part in, it was a peaceful and structured affair, with many other people on the wrong side of a false conviction being represented.

In total, around 60 people were in attendance, 9 of whom were yellow butterflies and 6 others, who heard about the event online and turned up on the day to show their support for Lucy.

Everyone from all the groups showed an incredible amount of courage and the speakers spoke with much passion and honesty. This protest was never about intimidating or antagonising anyone, it was about making our presence felt and highlighting the plights of those we represent in a constructive and law abiding manner.

On behalf of the whole Yellow Butterfly Group, I would like to again thank the organisers of this protest for making it the success it was and giving the opportunity to so many victims to have public representation.

Over the next few months, I will be working on another 2 songs for Lucy, with the aim of the first being released in late summer and the second early December.

If you haven’t already subscribed to the Yellow Butterfly’s YouTube channel, please consider doing so. Although we may not post as often as many others do, we always aim to make our content the highest standard available to us. On top of the songs, there will be a steady flow of other videos to come over the next few months and beyond.

Following the facelift, the petition enjoyed a surge of signatures in the early part of last month and now stands at 4666. Thank you to all of the new signatories and to those of you still sharing it on social media and amongst your family and friends.

Kind blessings to you all and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Christopher Logan (Yellow Butterfly Group founder, chairman and campaign lead)
