Hello and welcome to the July 2025 newsletter.
Normally we only cover and update on the previous month’s developments, with a strict cut off on the last day of each month. However, it’s impossible to ignore and put off events that have happened in the few days that followed this time, so more on that later…….
To begin on a huge positive, Jeremy Hunt and Nigel Farage became the latest sitting MPs to call for a full re-examination of Lucy’s case. Hunt’s plea was extra significant because of the not so flattering things he said months earlier in the Thirlwall Inquiry.
Any U turn in support of Lucy is always welcome and should be fully embraced, so massive respect to Mr Hunt for doing that.
It demonstrates why it’s so important to be very careful about what we say about all those who have previously wronged Lucy. People can and are changing their minds, now that there is this flow of new evidence coming to light and that is something we should celebrate.
Just like the story of the Wind and the Sun in the Aesop fable, persuasion always works better than force. The Yellow Butterfly Group does not condone any threats or intimidation towards any person. It simply does not work and often ends up being counter productive.
Below are the links to Jeremy Hunt’s Good Morning Britain interview and the Express’ coverage of what Nigel Farage had to say:

It is so important that we continue to keep on writing to our local MPs and ask them to either publicly state they support the case being looked at again or to ask them to forward on your concerns to the Minister of State for Courts and Legal Services.
Lucy’s ordeal must be treated as a cross-party issue and we must seek support across the entire political spectrum. The colour rosette politicians wear on election day is completely irrelevant in this justice battle.
Last month we also heard the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, announce a national investigation into maternity and neonatal care in England. Data from the last decade paints a concerning picture of what appears to be a department in crisis. Prompt action is needed to address these failings, as opposed to finding an easy target to blame.
The Yellow Butterfly Group welcomes any such inquiry if it’s conducted in a fair, impartial and transparent way and we look forward to reading its findings.

In recent days, we heard that the former managers at the Countess of Chester Hospital (CoCH) have been arrested and bailed on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
It is very difficult to predict how this will play out and whether or not it is something that could work in Lucy’s favour further down the line, but for now we will reserve judgement. We do hope, however, that those at the centre of it are receiving sound legal advice and any potential opportunity to speak openly and honestly will be taken by all concerned.
The very next day, we also learned that Cheshire Police have sent a file to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), for their consideration, with the view of pressing further changes on Lucy.
Obviously it would be very unwise for us to make any comment on this matter too, other than to just say it’s very obvious why this is happening and we hope that the CPS are able to see this in the same way we all do and the file ends up where it truly belongs!
On more domestic matters, the petition now sits on 4960 signatures, with 1 week to go before the 1 year anniversary since it was launched. The target for the first year is 5000 and we are now agonisingly close to hitting that, so please help give it one last push by sharing it wherever you feel comfortable and / or sponsoring a promotion of it if you can afford to.
Exciting things will happen once we hit the 5000 mark and we enter phase 2 of working towards taking it into 5 figures. I will, of course, keep you updated on that as we go along.
Work is underway on 2 new songs that will be released on YouTube before the year is out, along with a few other projects that I hope you will find of interest. The songs are poles apart in terms of genre, but I look forward to sharing them with you and hearing your feedback.
If you haven’t already subscribed to our YouTube channel, please consider doing so. We don’t claim to release as much content as some of the other pro-Lucy channels, but what we do release is always of the highest quality available to us and the channel will continue to slowly expand, with not just more songs, but plenty of other special features and surprises.

Thank you for all your support. Everything positive we do as individuals or within a group is making a worthwhile difference. Of course bumps in the road will always come along now and again, but there is nothing we can’t ride out.
What we have is far more powerful than anything else the haters have and that is “The Truth” and it is “The Truth” that will set Lucy free.
