Welcome everyone to the May 2025 bulletin on this Bank Holiday weekend.

April began with Lucy’s barrister, Mark McDonald, personally handing in a 698 page report, from 14 world-leading experts, to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC).

As many of you will know, the panel of experts meticulously examined every case and on each occasion, found no evidence of foul play whatsoever. They were also able to provide alternative explanations on how each tragic event came about.

It’s difficult to predict how long it will take the CCRC to carry out their review and what will cross their threshold as “new evidence”, but we can only hope they will take an objective approach to their analysis and they put Lucy’s justice ahead of rigid protocol.

Here is a link to an article by ITV News if you would like to read more about the CCRC application and also view a short case summary of the panel’s findings for each death and collapse:

In mid-April came another extraordinary revelation that an email sent back in May 2017 appears to contradict the evidence provided by a key witness, which the prosecution used to secure a conviction against Lucy in last summer’s single case retrial.

This shocking, but extremely welcome development was obtained by the UnHerd website and is reported in the Daily Mail linked below:

Again, we must keep our fingers crossed that this is something the CCRC will take into consideration and they see it for exactly what it is!

Some of you may have noticed the petition has undergone a bit of a facelift. This is to reflect the fact that the case is now in the hands of the CCRC and also cover some of the other developments in the last few months.

As with the original version, we have tried to keep it as short and punchy as possible and just give potential signatories the facts, as opposed to pages and pages of waffle.

I am, however, obliged to inform you that you are entitled to revoke your signature at any time if you feel the petition no longer represents what you hope it will achieve. I don’t know why anyone would do that, but I still have to notify you of any changes and edits nonetheless.

At the time of writing it stands at 4389 signatures and is continuing to tick over nicely. Any help to give it further outreach will be very much appreciated. Platforms such as Twitter / X and Facebook are a great place to start for those of you who feel confident enough to put it out there.

Once we hit the 5000 milestone, I will be making an announcement about what we will be doing with it, so keep a lookout for that landmark and help us get there a little quicker if you possibly can.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you as always to everyone who is playing their part in fighting for Lucy in the right and proper way. There will be no better feeling when her justice is realised and you know you played a part in it.
