I know a lot of inmates serving an IPP recall sentence who are being forced to gather information about their recall reason months before their hearing, only to wait a further 3-6 months before a paper hearing has a date. Some inmates are being recalled for minor infractions but because they are on an IPP, their wait time is extended. This can have a massive impact on people's mental health. Many inmates are committing suicide due to this prolonged uncertainty. It also affects families that are anxiously waiting for updates as well as the inmates in question.

We need to reduce the wait times for both paper and oral hearings for IPP prisoners on recall. This will not only help alleviate mental health issues but also provide timely justice and support to affected families.
