For many years the Kessock Bridge has been a 'suicide  hot spot ' . Recent freedom of information details shows a vast increase in the number of incidents that relate to a person's well being . Too many people have completed suicide already . Too many families devastated . Many suicides can be prevented or delayed. 

Many times a month Inverness is traffic grid locked due to mental health/ suicide incidents closing the Kessock Bridge . 

A huge amount of northern constabulary time is taken in them having to respond to mental health crisis .

 There are solutions ...... 

1 kessock bridge needs a  'safe hut' whilst upgrading prevention work is designed and implemented to make the bridge safer and  reduce the risk of jumping being possible . 

2 all agencies voluntary, statutory and private  to work together in suicide prevention. 

3 mental health care in the Highlands needs to be proactive  not reactive and involve all disciplines working together . 

 

Each locality needs a proactive multidisciplinary crisis prevention/  intervention team. . 

 

There maybe more and better mitigating solutions for preventing kessock bridge completed suicides and other mental health related incidents .
