We are residents of the area surrounding Sharron Church Road and Old Greenville Highway. Our day-to-day lives have been affected by the perilous traffic conditions at this intersection. Several close calls and accidents have already occurred here, including instances where it was dangerous to even pull out of our driveways or navigate Sharron Church Road.

The lack of a safe and appropriate speed limit has turned a simple act of commuting into a hazardous endeavor for everyone who travels on these roads. These safety hazards significantly impact our quality of life, affecting everything from our ability to safely get to work or school, to the longevity and safety of our vehicles and, most importantly, to our personal well-being and that of our families.

With traffic only increasing in our region, the risk is becoming more dire each day. Studies have shown that even a 5 mph decrease in vehicle speed can decrease the fatality risk by as much as 30% (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). These statistics only underline how desperately change is needed at this intersection.
