Kevill Road, Devon Drive and Illawarra Road have just had new 70 speed limit signs put up. Residents and people of the community believe this is way too high. The road is tree lined, highly kangaroo populated, bendy, one lane in sections, steep descents, many driveways, a school bus route, has kids on bikes, people walking dogs and children/prams. 

Due to many properties having fences the kangaroos are concentrated in open areas and frequently cross roads. Kevill is a well known tourist destination to see kangaroos and the Yalgardup Falls. There are many other forms of wildlife including Wood Ducks that cross the road with their babies to the river and our endangered possums.

Screeching breaks is a common sound as cars roar down the hill. We have had many kangaroos put down due to being hit by cars. 70 gives permission for people who do not know the area and people who do, to choose to drive fast.

With Margaret River becoming more and more of a tourist destination and the population expanding with many new residences built in the area we believe the change to 50  is very necessary  to keep our children and animals safe and should be done immediately.
