To the esteemed Gems Board, DPSA Minister, PSCBC, and all public sector trade unions:

As public service employees, we have been left feeling disillusioned and distressed by the recent 9.8% increase in the Gems medical aid fees. This increase is, quite frankly, reckless and appears to be an intentional burden imposed on us. It's particularly disheartening given that we haven't seen a corresponding increase in our wages from our employers for the past eight years. This unfair practice needs immediate rectification.

Gems was established as a government initiative to provide affordable and subsidized medical aid specifically for public servants. It was meant to ease our financial burden, not exacerbate it. However, with this recent hike, it seems that the motives driving these decisions are rooted in greed rather than the original purpose of supporting the lowest-paid members of the public sector.

We urge the powers responsible to reconsider this drastic hike. An affordable and subsidized medical aid system was promised to us by the government, and it's imperative that you honor this promise. Many of us are already struggling to cope with financial challenges, and adding such a substantial increase is nothing short of detrimental to our households.

We call for an immediate review and revision of the Gems medical aid fees to ensure they remain within reach for public servants. Please remember, for many of us, this isn't just a number. It's a matter of livelihood and security.

Join us in demanding fairness and protection for public servants. Please sign this petition to make sure our voices are heard and to advocate for a fair and just system that aligns with the original intent of supporting the genuine needs of public service employees.

Do away with gems and get us any affordable medical scheme which will look into our financial situation.awa with gems away ,
