Schools with excess food affect those who are unable to have food security. This food thrown away daily at schools could have much greater use, and be transferred to those who need it. The general food security of our community is at stake if a new program doesn't start up. Now is the most important time to act because it will give schools time to set up these regulations and get the ball rolling for future years. The earlier we start, the more food we save.
