The issue

Residents of Coffs Harbour demand answers and intervention regarding the exorborant flight prices to and from our hometown.

Prices to fly to and from Coffs Harbour have become so expensive they have become out of reach of most residents and visitors alike.

Residents are being forced to drive 4 hours return to fly out of Ballina airport, or even further to Newcastle or the Gold Coast, all of which are hundreds of dollars cheaper, even after factoring in the cost of petrol and car parking.

Why do Coffs residents have to drive hours away to be able to fly, when we have a functioning airport in our own backyard?

This also has massive negative impacts on local tourism, with some one way flights from Melbourne costing over $1,000, it is cheaper to fly overseas then to Coffs Harbour at times.

It never used to be this way for Coffs and we, the public, would like to know what has changed and why Coffs reidents have to pay so much more than anyone else? Why are we being penalised?

We also demand that something is done about these prices to make them more fair and in line with other neighbouring regional airports like, Ballina, Port Macquarie, Newcastle and Gold Coast, all of which are significantly cheaper.

Please, sign our petition and help us secure a cost reduction for Coffs Harbour flights and promote fairness and affordability in our community.
