Yesterday I posted how outraged I was that the new compulsory PE kit for my child’s school is now £56. This is just for the PE kit, this is without the branded skirts, blazers and everything else they require for September. I found out I am not alone, parents commented how they cannot afford to do things with their kids this 6 week holiday due to worrying over the cost of what they needed on the ‘compulsory’ kit lists. 

I found out statistically more people miss their rent payments in August than in December due to the high costs of these uniforms. Surely this can be seen as a nationwide problem?

Many, Many households are in a poor financial position with food bank useage at an all time high and these uniform costs just keep rising! It is getting to the point some children are going to be in a ‘poverty shaming’ position when their families cannot afford everything for them just to get an education. Will all these expensive kits with school badges on make them perform better or improve their education? Sadly no. It’s solely for image of the school which is not fair on us struggling parents.

Bring the costs down or do not make Logo items compulsory and keep them all plain and affordable!
