More than 1,000 trucks drive through Manotick every day—90% are just passing through. This relentless flow of heavy traffic endangers seniors, children, cyclists, and all residents.

Manotick Concerned Citizens Against Truck Traffic (MCCATT), supported by 40 local businesses and individuals, commissioned an independent engineering study. The study confirmed that Bridge Street and other village roads are not designed for heavy trucks and identified safe, immediate alternative routes. These would divert 90% of trucks while still allowing local deliveries.

MCCATT presented this report to city officials, including the mayor, urging them to immediately close the designated truck route on Bridge Street and Manotick Main Street. The city has refused—putting public safety at continuing risk.

This is an urgent, non-partisan safety issue. A solution exists. The City must act now.
