Redesign Princess Elise's species in future Sonic the Hedgehog games

The Issue

As someone deeply affected by the relationship portrayed in the 2006 video game, Sonic the Hedgehog, I find myself called to action. The controversial involvement between Sonic and Princess Elise, one of the main characters, has led to persistent accusations that Sega is supporting bestiality. The depiction of a human in a romantic relationship with a humanoid hedgehog is deeply unsettling. I am especially troubled by the scene where Elise kisses Sonic to revive him. Not only does this suggest a romantic relationship, but it also raises questions about consent as Sonic is unconscious rather than dead. These aspects of the game could be intimidating to many players and contribute to the game's negative reputation—it has been frequently ranked as one of the worst video games of all time. We need to ask Sega to take responsibility for the content they produce, ensuring that it is respectful to all players and does not reinforce harmful standards.

Princess Elise The Third is a character in the Sonic franchise of video games, She is a human girl and the current sovereign of Soleanna, the sole living member of the principality's royal family. The daughter of the Duke and the Duchess of Soleanna, Elise tragically lost her mother at a young age. Her father later perished as well in the failed Solaris Project, but not before sealing the Flames of Disaster inside of Elise's soul. He warned that if she were ever to cry, the Flames would be unleashed. Burdened by the pressure to rule and to never cry, Elise nevertheless came to lead the principality.

Ten years after the Solaris Project, Elise was targeted by Dr. Eggman for the Flames of Disaster and her Chaos Emerald. Coming to her rescue, however, was Sonic the Hedgehog, who would save Elise multiple times and ultimately help free her from her heavy burden.

Elise’s original physical appearance depicts her as a tall, teenage, human girl with fair skin, short red hair, and light blue eyes. Her outfit consists of an off-shoulder short white dress with short-puffed transparent sleeves and a transparent ruffle trim at the top, a golden strap with crossed black edges and white flowers on the chest, and rhombus pattern with the Soleanna symbol at the hem. She also wears white evening gloves, silver earrings, a gem necklace, orange pantyhose, and red and silver high heel shoes.

As a child, Elise wore a layered, orange shirt with short-puffed sleeves with red and white triangle-patterned trims at the middle, and a pink transparent collar at the top of the shirt. Her pants were also orange, with red and white triangle-patterned trims at the end, a golden belt of black edges with a bow at the back, and red Mary Jane shoes.

upon redesigning Elise, she is depicted as an anthropomorphic phoenix bird who signifies the ability to rise from the ashes

Let us demand that Sega revise Princess Elise's character and her relationship with Sonic, rectifying the mistakes of the past. Raise your voices and sign this petition.
