Our community is fortunate to have a plan for a new skate park, but the current design leaves much to be desired. I can't help but compare it to the V36 skate park in Newtownabbey, which is a million times better in terms of design and functionality.

V36 has become a vibrant hub, attracting countless visitors who come to enjoy the well-thought-out layout and features that cater to skaters. It has firmly placed Newtownabbey on the map as a destination for skate enthusiasts. The proposed Antrim skate park, unfortunately, won't attract the same level of attention or foot traffic with its current plans.

Skate parks are more than just concrete and rails; they are a place for community building, for young people to express themselves freely, and for fostering healthy outdoor activity. It's vital for our community leaders to acknowledge the importance of having a well-designed skate park that can serve Antrim well for years to come.
