Stop the excessive high rise development proposed for the Highroad, South Woodford

Stop the excessive high rise development proposed for the Highroad, South Woodford

The Issue

Dear Resident,

A planning application has been submitted to Redbridge Council for a 6 storey, 28 flat development on the Highroad, South Woodford.

We, and many other fellow residents, believe that the application is inappropriate as it will sit on an already congested corner of the High Road, and will exacerbate the already existing problems of traffic, parking and pollution. Furthermore, such an excessive development opposite a heritage asset is not appropriate in the conservation area.

Not only is this development unwelcome, but it will set a precedent for future high-rise buildings, destroying the character of South Woodford and putting pressure on local services.

We would like the Council to honour its commitment to conservation, heritage, and the preservation of the quality of life for local residents by rejecting this application 5491/17.
