RECYCLE IN MONARCH MEADOWS HOA

RECYCLE IN MONARCH MEADOWS HOA
The Issue
With today's rapid increase in deliveries to our homes (via Amazon, Instacart, Costco boxes, UPS, etc.), cardboard boxes, paper, and other recyclables have become more than half of our waste. Unfortunately, these recyclables are ending up in the landfill and littering our neighborhood due to our HOA's regulations and lack of recycling bins.
After speaking to Riverton City Utilities (assuming we weren't on a route), they informed me we, in fact, are on a recycling route but our HOA did not want to participate in recycling services. Shocked by this news, I emailed the property management company, Western Management Associates, who manages Monarch Meadows HOA. The property manager informed me that our HOA board continues to vote against recycling (most recently in January 2023) due to the additional monthly cost of $1100, which is only an additional $8-$10 each month per household. However, he advised we start a petition to obtain signatures (electronic or on paper) in order to push the HOA toward recycling services.
This being said, I also believe the HOA should not be the only decision-makers on the matter. The residents and members of the community who are directly effected every day, week, and month should give their input (thus, this petition was born :). As residents of this community, I feel our opinions matter the most and we need to show the HOA where we stand.
If we continue without recycling bins, our recyclables will continue to take up space in our trash bins and end up in landfills instead of the recycling plants. Plus, this change would help reduce the amount of waste being blown out of overflowing trash cans and as a result, make our community and state a cleaner place to live.
If we do not advocate for this change immediately, the price of recycling may increase or we may be taken off the Riverton City recycling route indefinitely.
So, please, if you are tired of dealing with your recycling and are willing to pay a small monthly fee of $8-10/month per household (or double your current trash payment), please sign this petition so we can show the HOA just how much we care about our beautiful state.
Thank you!
Marie G. (Monarch Meadows Resident on Duncan Meadow Ln)
**PLEASE TEXT OR EMAIL ME YOUR ADDRESS WHEN YOU SIGN (The HOA will need addresses to confirm Monarch Meadows residency).
