Reconsider the termination of Professor Daniel Hernandez at Del Tech

For many of us at Del Tech, Professor Daniel Hernandez has been more than just an educator; he has been a mentor, guide, and an unwavering source of support throughout our academic journey. His abrupt termination not only comes as a shock but feels unjust considering his outstanding contributions to our institution.
Professor Dan plays a pivotal role in our education, particularly in guiding students through the intricate admissions process. His commitment goes beyond the classroom, where he has taught us invaluable skills in our vascular course and essential scanning fundamentals. Dan's dedication is evident through the countless hours he spends assisting students outside of his required duties, ensuring that everyone has a fair opportunity to succeed.
Moreover, Professor Dan has willingly taken on additional responsibilities, stepping in to enhance the quality of courses and improve student outcomes. His efforts have consistently translated into better understanding and higher performance among students. Such dedication should be recognized and celebrated, not met with termination.
Delaware Technical community college’s mission statement begins with,“students are at the center of everything we do,” yet in this decision, students were not considered.
It is crucial to understand the long-lasting impact his dismissal could have on current and future students. Without Professor Dan, we lose an irreplaceable part of our educational fabric, a person who truly embodies the spirit of education and student success at Del Tech.
We urge the administration to reconsider their decision and reinstate Professor Dan, so he can continue to positively influence our lives and those of upcoming students. Please sign this petition to support our cause and help us bring back an indispensable educator to Del Tech.
