Dear Jacobs Community,

On September 22nd, the majority shareholder of Jacobs Univerity Serg Bell, and the University President Pammoli announced plans to rebrand our institution to "Constructor University". 

Since the name change from Jacobs University itself is a requirement of the Jacobs Foundation as they withdraw financial support from our university, we are not objecting to the process, but to the intended result: "Constructor University". 

In a joint letter to Serg Bell and Fabio Pammoli (see attachment), the Undergraduate Student Government and the Graduate Student Association explain our biggest concerns with the intended name, asking them to reconsider "Constructor University" and to involve student voices in the rebranding process.
