We, the students of Amity Online, respectfully request the reconsideration of the immediate implementation of mandatory dual-camera proctoring for the ongoing End-Term Examinations. This petition is not against maintaining academic integrity; rather, it aims to highlight the concerns and challenges students face due to this abrupt change.

The sudden shift to dual-camera proctoring places an undue burden on students. Many of us do not possess the financial means to obtain a second camera for the exams, making it incredibly difficult to comply with this requirement. In addition, there are technical concerns: numerous students do not have access to reliable internet connections that can support the bandwidth necessary for two streaming cameras simultaneously, which may result in unfair disadvantage or cause interruptions during exams.

Privacy is another major concern. A dual-camera setup invades personal spaces, creating discomfort and anxiety. The constant surveillance can be detrimental to students' mental well-being, possibly affecting their performance on these crucial assessments. Moreover, installing a second camera requires technical adjustments that not all students are equipped to handle, further risking exam disruption.

Alternative methods of ensuring academic integrity, such as leveraging AI-supported single-camera solutions, periodic screenshots, and AI-based monitoring tools, could be considered. These alternatives maintain integrity without necessitating the burden of additional hardware and invasion of privacy.

We urge Amity Online to prioritize students' welfare alongside exam security by reassessing this decision. By doing so, the institution can uphold fairness while respecting personal circumstances and constraints faced by students.
