The issue

I am writing this petition with great concern regarding the recent increase in the fees for the Resident Return Visa (RRV) in Australia. As a permanent resident and taxpayer, this sudden rise in fees is not just a financial burden for me but also for countless other families who contribute significantly to our country's economy.

Many of us who hold permanent residency have established our lives here, becoming integral members of our communities and contributing to the country’s prosperity. This fee increase hits hardest on families with multiple members who need to renew their RRVs. It adds an unwarranted financial strain at a time when many are already grappling with economic challenges.

Australia prides itself on being a welcoming society, valuing immigration as a cornerstone of its development and diversity. However, the soaring costs associated with renewing our RRVs make it difficult for us to maintain our status and continue contributing to this nation we call home. It feels as if we are being penalized for wanting to stay and invest our future here.

We urge the government to reconsider this decision. A revision of the RRV fee structure, considering the current economic climate and its impact on families, would be a fair move. It is crucial to align visa-related fees with reasonable expectations, supporting those who have long-term commitments to Australia.

By signing this petition, we can collectively voice our concerns and appeal to the authorities to rethink these inflated costs. Let us stand together for a more sustainable and inclusive visa policy. Please sign and support this call for a fair revision of RRV renewal fees.
