The Issue

We are trying to help our local hockey association, from the best place in our heart, and see if we can recognize an amazing local athlete. We have known Arvin Atwal for many years, and can honestly say he's one of the nicest people you would ever met. Anyone who knows Arvin would agree—he's the type of person who would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. We've all seen how dedicated he is, not only as a player but also as a coach. He gives coaching his all, just like he did when he played professionally.

Arvin Atwal has been a beacon of excellence in North Delta’s hockey community, having been born and raised in North Delta Minor Hockey. His massive professional hockey career has been built on the ice of our local rinks. Now, as a seasoned coach, he continues to inspire young athletes, imparting not just skills, but life lessons that extend beyond the rink. Arvin's influence and contributions have shaped North Delta's hockey scene profoundly, making him more than deserving of having his jersey retired at Sungod Arena.

Sungod Arena, a cornerstone of our community, would greatly honor Arvin's legacy and contributions by retiring his jersey. More than just a tribute to his skills, this gesture would acknowledge his intangible assets—his kindness, leadership, and dedication. It's a testament to the indelible mark he has left on countless lives and his immense impact on our community.

We believe Arvin's achievements and personal qualities deserve this recognition, and we urge the Delta community and hockey lovers alike to support this cause. Let’s celebrate a local hero who embodies the spirit of North Delta, both on and off the ice.
