Have you ever been so sick that you had to go to the hospital to get extra care? Or had a really bad case of Covid-19? The First Nations on their own land don't even get that privilege for normal sicknesses and colds. For too long these people have experienced racism and have been pushed aside, but now its deteriorating their health because they are not receiving the same care as all of us. Organizations have made it clear that they want to construct a mental health and substance abuse treatment facility which is helpful, but more still needs to be done.

 Covid-19 made it much harder for the indigenous peoples health. Covid has affected us all, but unlike the first nations we had access to proper help and assistance. They conducted a survey for all first nations people living off the reserve, and the survey found rates of disability. This issue is very impactful on the indigenous people because their health is at risk. They have tried to fix this issue, but we still need to get the government in action.

This issue was brought up as a complaint in 2017 because the  many Indigenous people had no clean water or stable homes that we have, but yet it is 2023 and this issue is still very much in the air. They don't have enough funding to actually complete the project which is why it is incomplete and we think that the government needs to step up and donate some money or someone in power should share this problem. Peoples health is being put at risk here and a change is needed.
