Recognize Olsen Family on Lehi Historical Marker

The Issue

My name is Carly Cash, and I am the proud granddaughter of Wallace and Arlene Olsen. For nearly 58 years, my grandparents have lived in the historic home at 150 E. State Street in Lehi, Utah. They have poured their passion and dedication into maintaining this beautiful piece of our city's heritage, preserving its historical integrity for future generations.

In 1967, Wallace and Arlene undertook the meticulous restoration of the home, breathing new life into it while honoring its storied past. However, the recently placed historical marker only acknowledges the original owner, Thomas R. Cutler, and Dr. Fred Worlton, who briefly ran a hospital on the premises. This representation fails to capture the full history of the home and the love and care my grandparents have invested over more than five decades.

Recognizing the Olsens' contribution to preserving this landmark is not just a matter of honoring my family’s legacy; it is about acknowledging the vital role they have played in maintaining a significant piece of Lehi’s heritage. Their work has ensured the home remains a physical testament to our community's history and memory.

I am asking for your support to amend the historical marker to include Wallace and Arlene Olsen’s restoration efforts. By doing so, we can provide a more comprehensive and accurate account of this site's history, celebrating all those who have contributed to its story.

Join me in signing this petition to urge the city of Lehi to update the marker, thereby giving deserved recognition to the Olsen family for their longstanding commitment to preserving the historical integrity of their home.
