My beloved dog, Folkor, is under threat for being wrongly labelled as aggressive and a nuisance. This couldn't be further from the truth. Folkor is a loving and well-behaved pet who has brought immense joy and companionship to my life. I am standing up against the ungrounded demand of either getting rid of him or moving from my locality. Dogs are not just pets, they are family.

Having a dog can bring multiple benefits like increased happiness, companionship and even improved health. Studies show that dogs can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, encourage physical fitness and social interactions (American Psychological Association). Folkor has been all this and more.

It is imperative to understand that labelling and generalizing certain dog breeds as aggressive is not factual, but biased perception. Responsible dog parenting is always the key to a well-behaved pet, irrespective of the breed. The American Veterinary Medical Association declares that breed-specific legislation isn’t productive because it fails to address the problem of aggressive behavior in dogs (AVMA).

I request everyone to put a halt to prejudice based on misinformation and lack of knowledge. Let's stand together against unwarranted breed discrimination and advocate for dogs like Folkor.
