Recognise Britannic On Slipway Two

Recognise Britannic On Slipway Two
The Issue
We know all the story of the Titanic and how she met her tragic end. But, did you know she had two sisters? Yes, and there is an attempt to recognize one sister on the slipway where she was built.
Behind the Titanic Belfast Museum, there are two slipways, which have two memorials - all dedicated to the crew and passengers who boarded the Titanic in April 1912.
Slipways 2 and 3 were built between 1904 and 1907 and during the construction, two gantries were built at a distance of 0.2 miles from the Harland and Wolff shipping offices (which is now the Titanic Hotel).
When the slipways were complete, workers began three ocean liners which would be later known as the Olympic Class liners. The Titanic was built in Slipway Three while the Olympic and Britannic were built in Slipway Two.
The gantries were torn down in the 1960s but in March 2012, the slipways were landscaped and were open to the public.
Today, the Titanic slipway (slipway three) has a life-size plan of the ship's Promenade Deck which is inlaid in white stone. While the Olympic's slipway (slipway two) has become a memorial garden that illustrates the proportion of Titanic’s victims and survivors from each of the passenger classes and crew.
However, the Titanic overshadows her two sisters with this memorial garden and there is no mention of a headstone or plaque of the Britannic (Olympic and Titanic's younger sister).
While the memorial garden beautifully pays tribute to the people who have survived or sadly passed following the disaster, it is sad that there is no mention of the Britannic on Slipway Two.
With this petition, a group of ocean liner enthusiasts and historians are trying to speak to the Titanic Quarter Limited to place a Royal War Battalion war memorial plaque for the Britannic as thirty lives were lost when the youngest White Star liner sank in November 1916.
If the petition is successful, the following step will possibly involve raising money for THE plaque to be placed in front of or on Slipway Two to commemorate the memory of the Britannic. We are really hoping we will reach our goal soon, but we need your help to make this possible.
Please sign and share this petition, so we can continue the legacy and history of the forgotten sister ship of the Titanic.
