Recall Sugar Land Mayor for Inadequate Hurricane Beryl Response

The Issue

I am a resident of Sugar Land, Texas, a city known for its robust community and strong leadership. But in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, our city's response was anything but strong.

Our mayor failed not only me but our entire community during this time of crisis. While neighboring cities swiftly regained electricity, we spent prolonged time engulfed in darkness due to the failure to restore power promptly. Street/by/street, block by block, we were made to live in the shadow of this inefficiency.

Beyond electrical failures, our city's roads were left littered with debris from fallen trees, hindering movement and recovery efforts. Other cities in Fort Bend County managed to clear their roads, yet the roadways in our city remained a testament to dysfunction.

Signal lights across Sugar Land ceased working, adding to the overall mayhem. The lack of working traffic signals caused chaos on our roads, impacting the safety and mobility of our residents.

These are not just signs of poor disaster management but reflect upon the unpreparedness and inefficiency of our current city mayor. It’s time to demand change and accountability for the damage done and the time lost.

Let us put our city's future in the hands of a leader who prioritizes public safety and swift action. I urge you to sign this petition for the recall of our Sugar Land Mayor. Our community deserves leadership that meets the urgent needs of its people during a crisis. Please, join me in pushing for a change. Sign this petition!
