Recall D-con poison

The Issue

Here are some scenarios for you to picture.

Scenario 1: You're a mother shopping in a store looking for groceries, your 5 year old child wanders off without you knowing, they come across a defective bag of rodent poison with a tear in the side of the bag, curious if it's edible, your child scoops some of the bait up and eats it. Soon another customer walks by seeing the child on their knees, coughing and struggling to breathe, then there's a big commotion, you realize your child is not by your side and panic. When you find your child, you nearly pass out as you watch them get carried away by paramedics. One of them showing you the ripped bag of rodent poison and telling you your child needs a blood transfusion and a stomach pump or else they'll die.

Scenario 2: You're a mouse searching for food, but an evil human decides to trick you and leave out a block of rodent poison, you go to the trap and eat it thinking you're filling your belly with good food. The next few days you feel hungry again, and really sick, you throw up blood, your stomach hurts, the next thing you know, an owl swoops you up and feeds you to her baby. But then, the baby owl begins feeling the same way you felt, the owl starts wobbling and falls out of their nest, before the mother makes it down to her baby, the little owls chokes on their own blood before dying painfully.

Scenario 3: Your dog Fido or your cat Mittens accidentally slips outdoors and runs off, you get nervous but think they'll come back home within a few hours, which they don't, so then you think they just found a house with food they're staying the night at, so you don't worry about it. But after say like 5-6 days, your animal companion still hasn't returned home. Anxious, you begin making flyers and making calls hoping someone seen your dog or cat. Turns out someone did, but not alive... Your animal got into rodent poison that was left out in the open by your neighbors.

All three of these scenarios are very much real, many cat and dog caretakers have reported how their animals' stomachs literally exploded after eating rodent poison.

Raptorsarethesolution.org has many reports on birds of prey that have came into wildlife rehabilitation centers after rodent poison was detected in their bodies, these poisons are also the reasons America's bird the Bald Eagle was nearly driven to extinction.

Over 10,000 children a year are administered into hospitals after a rodent poison related injury https://saferodentcontrol.org/site/risks-for-children/#:~:text=Kids%20and%20rat%20poisons%20do,across%20the%20U.S%20every%20year

Rodent poison's aren't just cruel to their intended victims, but they're also very dangerous. Why would you even leave out something that causes a living being to suffer for a week from seizures, collapsed organs, and inflammation before dying from their stomachs basically exploding? If it does all of that to a small animal, then imagine what it's doing to your domestic animals and children.

Sadly many people don't have to imagine that, they've had to hold their animal's paw or their child's hand as they watched them slowly and painfully die from something that shouldn't even exist.

Glue traps are evil, and so is poison. As I've said before, there are more humane ways to get a mouse out of your house than there are ways to kill one.

So like glue traps, let's get poisons out of our stores, starting with D-con.
