"Rebuilding, Healing, and Growing Together: Transforming Lives in Rocky Mount"

The Issue

My first-hand experience with homelessness and the unfathomable cold of exposure to harsh weather has thrust me into the struggle to alleviate the suffering of others. I, along with my dedicated team at our 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization Rise Up Queens and Kings, have been striving to provide refuge to the increasing number of homeless men, women and children in Rocky Mount. The temperature is dropping, and multiple families find themselves without a roof to turn to in these freezing conditions.

Data shows that approximately 564,708 people in the U.S are homeless on a given night, and almost 15% of this population comprises families (National Alliance to End Homelessness). This is a distressing reflection of the reality in our own community. Our mission is to convert an unused building into a safe space that can provide rooms for these displaced folks, offering them warmth, security and an opportunity for a fresh start in life.

The task we have at hand is to help the most vulnerable. These are our neighbors, and they deserve the chance at dignity and safety, a chance that nobody gave me when I was in their shoes. Let's take this opportunity to create change and shed light on the unseen crisis, and be part of the solution to the housing crisis in Rocky Mount.

Our Vision
We see a solution. An unused building can be transformed into a sanctuary—a safe, warm space where individuals and families can rebuild their lives. The Carlton House could be this lifeline. But we need your support to make this vision a reality.

Your Role
We’re calling on our community and local government to take action. Please support this cause and  help us to turn a building into a lifeline for our homeless citizens. By signing this petition, you’ll help us urge local officials to allocate this building to Rise Up Queens and Kings. for the welfare of our community's homeless population.Together, we can give hope to those who need it most.

Let’s be the change Rocky Mount needs. Let’s show our homeless community that they are not forgotten. From the depths of my heart, thank you for your compassion, your support, and your belief in this mission.

Sign today and join us in creating a future where everyone has a place to call home.
