In 1971, the Belmont Train Station closed. And since then the only public transport services available are Busses and Ferries. 

Having a railway line could reduce travel time into newcastle by more than half, with the fastest way getting into newcastle using public transport is busses. This commute takes more or less an hour to complete.

The main reason the passenger service closed was due to a lack of passengers. 

 Since then, Belmont and Surrounding areas have been steadily rising in population, which makes it a better time than ever for a train service in belmont as there are hundreds of people using public transport daily in the area to get to Newcastle, the implementation of this line would be much faster and more economically friendly than busses. 

This would be a huge investment but I am confident that it will pay off and help the people of Belmont and Surrounding areas commute faster and safer.
