Reassess Angling Cymru's Role as Welsh Governing Body for Angling

Reassess Angling Cymru's Role as Welsh Governing Body for Angling
The Issue
Angling Cymru has been the governing body for angling in Wales for a significant period. However, concerns have arisen regarding their effectiveness and suitability in this role. There is a growing consensus among anglers that change is needed to ensure fair and effective governance of our beloved sport.
The dissatisfaction with Angling Cymru stems from various issues including lack of transparency, inadequate representation of members' interests, and questionable decision-making processes. A prime example of this is their successful attempt to dismantle the Welsh Men’s and also a more recent attempt to do the same to the Welsh Ladies Carp Team the day after they successfully won the Home Tri-Nations competition.
These factors have led to a decline in confidence among anglers who feel their voices are not being heard or respected.
Anglers deserve a governing body that will promote the sport effectively, protect our waters, and represent all members fairly. We believe it's time to reassess whether Angling Cymru can fulfill these responsibilities or if another organization should take its place.
We urge everyone who cares about angling in Wales to sign this petition. Let us work together towards an improved system that truly serves the best interests of all anglers across our nation.
