Re-route Bus Service to Avoid Drooper Drive and Bishopton Lane

The Issue

Drooper Drive in Stratford-upon-Avon is a new residential area and would like to raise a grievance regarding the new bus routes, 229 (single decker) and 19 (double decker).  The route latter running every 20minutes from 7am to 7pm, six days a week.

Whilst the community requires frequent bus services, such as these, the route through Drooper Drive to make a return loop back to Bishopton Lane is duly unnecessary.  Already the services have been suspended due to safety reasons and instead are successfully turning around at the roundabout at the top of Drooper Drive.  This would be a preferential solution going forward.

The current situation generates excessive noise, especially at unsociable times, and intrudes on residents' privacy by allowing bus passengers on double-deckers to see into bedrooms (literally feet from our windows). Additionally, this route also poses potential safety hazards for children playing and with parked cars along the street. In UK, noise pollution has been linked to various health issues including stress and sleeping disorders (source: British Medical Journal). Our neighbourhood deserves better, and the bus route should be kept to the main roads, rather than our quiet residential estate.

These bus services are needed by our community whilst ensuring we maintain the peace, privacy, and safety of Trinity Fields. Take a stand for our quality of life and sign the petition today to reroute the bus around the roundabout on Bishopton Lane.
