TOP GUN: MAVERICK was one of the best films of 2022. The film grossed over $700 million in the United States and approximately $1.5 billion globally, creating a worldwide phenomenon. As lovers of the film, we believe it deserves to be re-released in theaters on its one-year anniversary. We propose re-releasing the film on May 26, 2023, the same day it was released in 2022. I have seen the film 19 times in theaters and plan to go again multiple times to celebrate this masterpiece of a film once again on the big screen for the duration of the summer of 2023.

This re-release will allow fans to relive the excitement and joy of experiencing the film in the movie theaters the way it was meant to be seen. It will also allow new fans who missed the film in cinemas to catch up on what they missed. We appreciate that movies normally have a limited theatrical run and that a re-release so soon after the initial release is unusual. Top Gun: Maverick, on the other hand, warrants an exception to the rule. While it did re-release in December and during the Oscar season, the film was designed to be seen on the biggest screen possible. The film was a big hit, and we believe it deserves to be re-released on its one-year anniversary.
