For many of us, the Integrated Arts Program at Innisdale Secondary School has been a pivotal stepping stone in our visual arts careers. This program has not only given us the opportunity to explore various mediums of art but also encouraged our involvement with the Barrie community. It fostered collaboration and teamwork, supporting creative enrichment that allowed us to develop artistic portfolios for future college/university applications.

The removal of this program is more than just an alteration in curriculum; it's stripping students of quality experiences and opportunities to grow as artists and individuals. In Canada, studies have shown that participation in arts education can lead to higher academic performance and improved self-esteem (Canadian Youth Arts Network). By removing this program, we are potentially hindering these benefits for our students.
