Hindu God pictures on Indian Currency Notes
Why this petition matters
This petition is regarding having the pictures of Hindu Gods on the currency notes of Hindustan. Lord Ganesha's status as the god of wisdom, art and science could be one of the reasons he was featured on the currency note or we can have Goddess Laxmi on the currency notes as we call Money as Laxmi in India. Having one patriot or leader on the currency notes is an insult for others who have equal or even more share in their fight for freedom. So, it is better not to have any picture of any human on the currency notes.
The Indonesian government has officially recognized six religions: Islam, Protestantism, Roman Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Over 87 per cent of the population follows Islam, making it the most populous Muslim nation.
Only a meagre 1.7 per cent of the population are Hindus. Yet, the country has pictures of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and many others on the currency notes. Then why can't India viz. Hindustan have such pictures on the currency notes.
