Black Republican “leads” demise of Richmond’s Beloved HBCU, Virginia Union University 

We, the people, are sick and tired of being publicly humiliated, emotionally and mentally raped, financially manipulated, enslaved, violated, discriminated against all because the unskillful Virginia Union University (VUU) Board of Trustees appointed an unfit crook. Hakim J. Lucas,  who is mentally insane, unstable, psychotic, and a black republican dictator is unworthy to lead an institution with such historical prominence. It’s difficult to thrive when the snake is the appointed “leader” who dictates with an iron fist like shameful white men of the past (e.g. Adolf Hitler and Donald J. Trump) who receive pleasure from power and control. The slave master must go and the unskillful board of trustees must be held accountable for their reckless decision to hire such a monster. VUU will not exist if this monster is 1) allowed to continue to hurt people, stakeholder relationships, and the university or 2) is reappointed for another term. 

In honor of our Richmond 34 who risked their lives for diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice, we list 34 reasons why the narcissist Hakim J. Lucas should be terminated immediately, not be a part of our beloved HBCU family at VUU, and how he uses strategic tactics like a serial killer to divide and conquer for personal gain.  

If only you knew that Hakim J. Lucas:

1. verbally, mentally, and emotionally abuses employees then threatens to terminate them
2. has created a culture of high turnover due to his inhumane expectations to work 24/7
3. uses money as a control mechanism to buy friendship and loyalty from employees which is the root of his evilness
4. boast about paying employees enough for them to be readily available to him 24/7 (i.e. modern-day slavery)
5. withholds employees’ pay for months by controlling personnel in human resources 
6. makes employee grievances disappear then terminates them for not being his supporter
7. allows employees to improperly compensate themselves and mismanage grant funds
8. manipulates students with “hush” money (i.e. tuition scholarships) in exchange for their public support of him
9. inflicts blanket fees on student accounts without justification to make a profit at our not-for-profit university 
10. approves contracts to friends and relatives with illegal kickbacks for clique members 
11. violates accreditation and mails fraudulent degrees to students that are not approved
12. violates accreditation and does not share governance and instead dictates orders daily
13. mismanages resources and mails technology to students who never enrolled or physically visited the university grounds
14. sexually harasses employees with inappropriate conversations
15. covers up title IX complaints with hopes of staying out of the media
16. throws childish tantrums and curses at employees when they can’t magically read his mind
17. violates HIPPA by publicly sharing employees personal medical conditions with others without permission
18. creates conflict to cause division and harasses HBCU supporters
19. condones relationship status discrimination insisting everyone be single, miserable, and hateful like himself
20. mismanages federal funds (e.g. Title 3) 
21. falsifies enrollment numbers to the board of trustees, the general public, accrediting body, etc. (enrollment continuously declines under his dictatorship) 
22. publicly belittles and dehumanizes faculty, staff, students, and all employees 
23. consistently lies about his actions to the board of trustees, students, employees, and alumni
24. boasts about how he’s not afraid of lawsuits due to his unethical behaviors because of his self proclaimed spiritual prophecy
25. spreads campus gossip and fraternizes with the board chair, W. Franklyn Richardson who should also be immediately removed from his position of authority and manipulation (long time family friend - a major conflict of interest)
26. condones inhumane living conditions for students with malfunctioning dormitories 
27. uses the Bible to manipulate key stakeholders to cover up his incompetencies and demons
28. harasses donors that don’t give as he thinks they should (e.g. MacKenzie Scott and others) 
29. blocks partnerships because of his integrity issues pushing donors to go elsewhere
30. strives to be “Best-In-Class” which is unachievable with a depressed and bipolar leader like himself (for the record, we need clarity: what is “Best-In-Class” and whose class?)
31. is a poor fit for the university and faculty, alumni, and employees have no confidence in him
32. holds 3-10 hour meetings that restrict employees from doing the work of the university
33. should be investigated by an outside entity and reprimanded for his personal integrity issues 
34. should be removed immediately and not reappointed to free VUU from his oppression  

Creating a community culture of fear is NOT what a leader should be doing, especially when we’re all living during a world pandemic filled with uncertainties. Additionally, we are certain that we DON’T want, need, or accept Hakim J. Lucas to lead our beloved HBCU. We are a private university being held in captivity and we need global HELP (also sign our other petition here) from the harsh and unbearable actions that the board of trustees inflicted upon us. We want to be free of this modern-day slavery. Those who have experienced the wrath of Hakim J. Lucas, past and present, we challenge you to stand up for what is humane to get this black republican out of this seat. There is hope because Jesus will give us justice against our adversary and Judgement Day is coming; therefore, he must reap what he has sown. We pray that the “Lord Will Provide” us with a “woke” board of trustees who can appoint an empathetic servant leader. Stand with us to remove this devil, Hakim J. Lucas, in sheep’s clothing. #HBCUStrong
