Free TRAVIS E. WILLIAMS

The Issue

We, the people, are pushing for the early release of Travis E. Williams, inmate #1185948 (a Virginia DOC inmate), for the following reasons:

1.) In this case, Travis E. Williams, as disadvantaged teenager entangled in the snares of the "School to Prison Pipeline", committed a robbery at the age of 19 in efforts to help his struggling family. He had no intentions of hurting anyone nor was anyone physically harmed. Just some property was damaged and some money was taken in the robbery. He was arrested the next day (Jan. 20th, 2004), charged, was later convicted and sentenced to 38 consecutive years in prison without parole.

2.) In this case, Travis E. Williams, was the victim of police misconduct & prosecutorial misconduct. These unconstitutional acts of misconduct were acts aimed at securing the conviction of Travis E. Williams. Once the conviction was secured, the misconduct was since then overlooked and uncorrected.

3.) Travis E. Williams accepts full responsibility for his actions with the utmost remorse. He has been incarcerated for over 15 consecutive years and is working hard for a chance to right his past wrongs. During this time he has matured and reformed his mind. He founded the "Inmates for Entrepreneurial Progress" movement ( for more info, see Facebook or Wikipedia), authored & self-published several books (all available on Amazon & Amazon Kindle), helped countless other inmates publish their books, completed a trade, received paralegal career training, and co-founded & co-owns a limited liability company in the state of Virginia...among other things.

4.) 38 consecutive years in prison without parole for a simple robbery, in light of the facts, is unfair and outright overkill considering the fact that people are getting sentenced to far less time for murder.

Wherefore, in light of these facts, we believe that Travis E. Williams should be granted early release.
