A detainee at FarmVille detention center in Virginia attempted to kill himself today August 9th after being held in what they call the “hole” for 2 years. The hole is an isolated cell with no lighting or bed. A cell as small as coat closet with freezing temperatures. The man who hasn’t been identified was taken out this punishment cell after he slit his wrist, cutting through a vein. Detainees stated that being in that hole for 2 years made him go insane, and that he was punch the door and screamed everyday. Sadly he committed this act which thankfully he survived. This is not a prison, it’s a detention center and the detainees who are only held because of their immigration status are being treated like death row criminals. They deserve better than this, this treatment is not okay and shouldn’t be allowed. CLOSE FARMVILLE DETENTION CENTER!!!!!
