On February 10th 2019 at 7:30pm a beautiful loving male brindle pit bull named Tommie was tied to a pole at Abner Clay Park on West Clay St in Richmond, Va. He was covered in accelerant and set on fire. This is so heart breaking that someone would take such a harmless animal and do this. All dogs want is to be fed and loved. They show us owners unconditionall love no matter what might be going on in our lives. They just want to be loved. I woke up this morning, February 15th 2019, to hear the sad news that Tommie had passed away despite showing signs of recovering. This broke a lot of people’s hearts. I believe that there should be more strict laws and consequences in place for animal abuse. The Virginia laws for animal abuse just aren’t strict enough. What some people don’t understand is that dogs and pets in general are like children to us. Their are families out there that can’t have children unfortunately and there pet is their children and they love them unconditionally. Could you imagine this happening to your beloved pet.
