A Second Chance for Nicholes Callahan

A Second Chance for Nicholes Callahan
Why this petition matters

#SecondChanceSupportNicholesVernellCallahan
At the age of 22 my life changed when I made a bad choice to try to fit in with the wrong crowd. I was raised in a two-parent home with plenty of love and guidance. However, my youthful ignorance to want to belong with the wrong crowd led me down the path of committing armed robbery and abduction. As a result of these bad choices I was sentenced to 176 years in prison and will be eligible for release after serving 70 years. That means there is a possibility that I will never see outside of these prison walls. However, I am asking for the public to support me in seeking a second chance to reenter society and become an asset. While incarcerated, I have made tremendous strides to be rehabilitated. I have taken time to reflect upon my ways of actions and thinking and I was able to change my life around. IN 2009 I made the most important step in my life and obtained my GED, in addition in 2019 I graduated and obtained certification in printshop/graphic design and last, I've created a program called "Prison Chronicles" that helps and gives a platform to prisoners to tell their story and display their talents (singing, rapping, poetry, song writing, book writing, and drawing). I am now at a point in my life to KNOW that I am ready to reenter back into society to contribute and be a positive role model to young men like me that may be on the same identical path I once traveled. I have a beautiful fiancée that will continue to support me once IM released along with my mother who is a beloved school teacher and my father who is a Pastor. In closing, I accept full responsibility in the role that I played in the crimes that were committed. However, I have served 18 years in prison and I am asking now for compassion and a second chance to give back to the world. Please sign my petition in support of my clemency and share it as well. Thank you for your support.
